According to Hindu mythology, Kerala was built by Lord Parshuram, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who, by throwing his ax across the ocean, to create a new land for his devotees to live peacefully. Therefore, Kerala is God’s own creation, so it is called God’s own country!
